Parent Advocate, Writer, Activist, Communicator, Speaker
Woke Mommy Chatter is a labour of love. Created as a space for me to share my Black motherhood journey. It has turned into an advocacy and education platform for Black mothers looking to see and hear their story told and allies and for accomplices looking to learn more and activate for change. Whatever brings your here… this blog, podcast, workshop is for you.
A Little About Me
I’m a mom of two. I’m also a communicator by trade and lead consultant at KAMA Communications, an inclusive communications and marketing agency. I focus on communications centred in equity, anti-oppression and driven by an anti-Black racism lens. While my professional accomplishments fuel me, what gives me life and inspiration (besides my kids) is the activism and advocacy work I do on behalf of Black parents. I am a proud founding steering committee member of an organization called Parents of Black Children, an organization dedicated to driving transformational change for Black kids in Ontario’s education system.
